Palliative Care Services

Palliative care is any form of medical care or treatment that concentrates on reducing the severity of the symptoms of a disease,or slow the disease's progress,rather than provide a cure.Upto 0.4% of the needy Indians are getting these services. The objective of the project is to improve patient care in palliative care services in Kerala by developing a web portal to coordinate various palliative care services like training, advocacy,service management, documenting patient related information.

Meeting at Trivandrum Institute of Palliative Sciences (TIPS)

On 30th January 2007 we had a meeting with

Dr. Rajgopal, Chairman of Pallium India.

We had a detailed discussion regarding the requirements of the project. Pallium India concentrates on 3 aspects of palliative care :

1) Education
2) Policies
3) Drug Availability

Our project mainly concentrates on the Education sector.
